The Glades Museum investigates and interprets the entire "Glades" experience. The Glades region, which is centered around the southern rim of Lake Okeechobee, is the entryway to the Florida Everglades. From constructing long-lasting communities to harvesting sugarcane to generating pro and collegiate football players, African Americans have long influenced events in the region.
